Kenmore Square: A study through photographic essays, by Keith McCluskey

Work for the class Reading and Telling Landscape: Photography as Inquiry, Professor Anne Spirn, Fall 2001.

Music: PJ Harvey, "A Place Called Home", from the album Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea

I've lived in Kenmore Square on and off for twelve years, and to me it has become home. Faced with the prospect of moving away at the end of the year, I attempted to make a record for myself of this place. It saddened me to think I might leave, and it was these feelings that were the inspiration for the final essay. Moving often means losing a sense of place, and that can be hard to recover. Hopefully, these images can serve as a record of my past and ease the transition as I move on.
